I don't blame you for being upset about the wedding. That would sting. And yes, I think most men are bad at the keeping in touch thing. No one in C's family got a card or in some cases a present until he met me. I was horrified that he never used to give his mom anything for Mothers' Day.

I'm terrible at phone calls too. I'm always worried I'm going to be bothering someone. One of C's second cousins is super conscientious and thoughtful and calls everybody. She makes the rest of us look bad. :)

Ouch. Me three on the wedding. She can do what she wants, I guess, but that is not cool.

As for the family connection thing, OMYGODDDDD. I only have 2 relatives in this country, and Jim has a whole bunch but it is pulling teeth to get him to visit his family. I have decided this year that I am D-O-N-E trying to get him to see his relatives, and I have finally started telling Eliza, who misses her cousins, that she needs to talk to her dad because he's in charge of arranging visits to his family. And yeah, I spend more time on the phone with his dad and stepmom than he does. I pretty much try to leave the building when he calls his mom because I don't want to talk to her about her feelings about 50 Shades of Grey. D-O-N-E.

Woah. I guess that was a rant I needed to have.

OK. The wedding thing sucks. I'm sorry. I'd be hurt too. Heck, I have been hurt too. Clare

p.s. The good news is that you don't need to buy a gift for the wedding!
